MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE ! ! ! !

I was standing out on the back deck the other day and found myself really appreciating where I am. It truly is quite beautiful. Fortunately, I do like the cold (actually enjoy it as a matter of fact). While in Florida, it was the one thing that was missing for me, especially around Christmas. I tried to get in the spirit while there by spending hundreds of dollars on lights to try to "brighten up" the holidays; but it's just not the same as a beautiful blanket of glittering snow. The wonder of seeing the ominous dark clouds in late afternoon and then awakening to the pristine covering of cottony snow, so gorgeous you don't even want to make foot prints in it for fear that the moment will end. Then...the kid in me comes to the surface and I can't wait to get out there with the dog and the baby and flop around trying to make the ever elusive snow angel without the tell tale hand print of the extra effort caused by age and weight as I try to get up from the flopping. And then there are the dog and child taking wild leaps at me as I try to make the perfect angel, so basically, we end up in a big heap, finally get up, and it all starts again.

Thats a good one of Lily! She looks so happy running around in the snow. Caroline is cute as ever!
We DO need to get together, this time of year seems to be so busy and I have been sick as Cheryl was, I am finally over it and now Ray is sick (er than me)
Your house looks great all decorated, you did a lot, I have NOTHING except a couple Santa's laying around. What day can I pop over??

Merry Christmas and a Healthy, Hardy New Year back at ya!!!!

Love the pictures - it's such a great feeling to see a picture of a child's joy at looking at the Christmas tree!

I'm with you about discovering the frustrations involved with creating the perfect snow angel! The last time I was up at Cheryl's in the winter, I noticed the, ahem!, difficulties in dealing with the demands of gravity while trying to extract myself from the snow angel "bunker" w/o leaving any evidence of doing so (grin) ....

Wow. Christmas in North Country, eh? I have just caught up with Caroline from the beginning of your blog. It's great! Exactly what state are you living in, and are you anywhere near a town - if so, what is its name?

It is hard to believe that our youngest grandchild, Bianca Elise, just turned four September 9 last. Now I truly know why God gives children to the young. We who are over 50 - oh, okay, over 60 - are just too slow to keep up with them. My gosh, I have been in here looking at your great photos for hours. It is 11:41 p.m(and 64 degrees)so I have to get to bed.
