My mandavilla still haven't bloomed, but are damn close. The first thing I do every day now (even before coffee) is peek out the front door to see if it has bloomed.
Same lily different view.
This is one of the smaller (less tall- only about 7') sunflowers. Just bloomed right by the front door. The center looks like the gyroscope (I think that's what it was called) the toy that had the different toothed wheels that you put your pen in different holes to make cool whorl designs. Anyway, the center of the sunflower reminds me of those designs.
This one is a Star Gazerish lily, but the aroma is much less intense. I looks like a cross between my white and my red ones.
This sunflower is one of my giants (11' ). It has just started to open.

I think you and I have the same stargazer lillies! I am sick and can't smell them, makes me mad kind of , it's my favorite smell, this darn cold is blocking all my smelling abilities. Did you get to see the big bird this morning??
Did you have to crane your neck to see him? Ha!! Sometimes I crack myself up. Anyhoo, I love your pictures...we'll have something to tide us over this winter won't we...just peek back through our blogs at all the color. I think you're talking about a spirograph...is that what it's called, and it that how it's spelled? I don't know, they say the memory is the first to go...
Your pictures are simply beautiful!! Do you know what kind of caterpillar you have there? I've seen those big green ones a couple of times here but have absolutely no clue as to what they are. Amazing that it so quickly, overnight, turned into its cocoon phase.
P.S. RE: memory - yes, and specifically the spelling ability suffers - I have a devil of a time with spelling these days - my dictionary is getting quite a workout lately!
